Definition:

1. Email received from un classy company marketing inferior products that they "feel" everyone must have.

2. Junk mail from people who think everyone should have there "funny pics", "funny jokes", "necessary chain mail" or any other obnoxious forwards which get on most peoples nerves.

3. Mail which markets X-rated material which you do not wish to receive.

4. Mail which you request to be taken off there mailing list and still receive there spam.

Side Effects:

Receiving tons of emails which you have to filter out which ones are worth reading or not. Other side effects are viruses and attachments which are usually forwards from a "friend" or "relative", which takes up time to download, especially on Dail up Internet.

When you sign up for Spam Guard you receive 2 email address per account.

One lets you email people and if they reply they will receive a email back stating,

"This person does not accept direct emails, please Click Here to contact them"

This ensures that your email is never revealed.

How can someone send me attachments?

Simple answer, they cant.

If you must receive attachments, then we have a 2nd method which allows you to have 3 email address and the "public" one would allow you to accept attachments and you can still read them but you have to choose to download the attach. Still allowing you to be safe from scripts.

 

What if I give out my email address and someone sends a attachment that has virus on it?

Well if you do give out your public email address and someone emails you a attachment with a virus then that's the risk you take for giving it out, and hopefully you have a anti-virus which will detect it.
